Anti Inflammatory Green Smoothie

With lots of greens and turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and black pepper this smoothie will help to reduce inflammation and pain naturally. Make double the amount and have one serving in the morning and one serving in the afternoon to spread the positive effect of anti inflammation out over your day. For the greens use any of the following: spinach, kale, silver beet, beet root leaves, carrot greens, lettuce, dandelion leaves, plantain, nettle, parsley, coriander ....)

  • Yields: 1-2 servings


1/2 Avocado

1/2 cup Blueberries, frozen

1-2 handfuls of greens

1-2 tsp Ginger, freshly grated

1 tsp Turmeric powder, or 1-2 cm of fresh root grated

1/2 tsp Cinnamon (Ceylon or superior cinnamon, not cassia if possible)

1 pinch Pepper, black, freshly ground

200 ml water, more or less


1-3 tsp Maca root powder, start with 1 tsp and increase slowly

1/3 Banana or a few drops of Stevia to sweeten

1 tbsp Chia seeds, soaked

1 Lemon, juice and use juice to taste


Add all ingredients to your blender and blend on high for 30-90 seconds, depending on the power of your blender. Enjoy! Will keep in fridge for up to 8 hours.
